DESIGN FOR A DECORAT|VE PATTERN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N0. 25,219, dated March 3 1896.
Application filed December 24, 1895. Serial No. 573,211. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GYULA DE FESTETICS, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State 5 of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Decorative Pat-- tern; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyro ing drawing, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to an original design for a decorative pattern for flat and hollow gold, silver, and plated ware; and it consists in certain decorative features and the group- 15 ing of features hereinafter referred to.
The design is used as a decoration for and worked into or on the backs of brushes, handmirrors, the tops of boxes, and other toilet articles. It is, however, obvious that it maybe 20 used for decorating other articles or devices.
In the accompanying drawing the design is shown as consisting of a fanciful wreath A in the shape of an endless band. This wreath is surmounted by a representation of a crown,
2 5 as B. At the base of the wreath are the representations of cornucopias C C, located at opposite sides and having their stems crossing.
Representations of streamers or ribbons I) I) are arranged at the upper and lower ends of the wreath. The cornucopias are represented 0 as being filled with flowers. The uppcrportion of the wreath is partly surrounded by suitable floral clusters or sprays E, which extend down along the sides, the same being some little distance from the sides. Below 35 the crossing point of the stems of the cornucopias is a suitable representation 1*.
The essential features of the design are the wreath surmounted by the crown and the cornucopias.
It is obvious that the wreath may be oval instead of circular, as shown.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is 5 The design for a decorative pattern, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GYULA DE F ESTETICS.
