To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GYULA DE FEsTETIcs, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a I ull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the aceornpanyin drawing,
10 forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to an original design for handles; and it consists of the fanciful decorative features and grouping of features hereinafter referred to.
In the drawing, A designates a representation of a torch extendin longitudinally along the central portion and base of the handle. The handle or staff of the torch is entwined by ribbons or streamers 13 at or about its center. At the upper end of the torch is the representation of a wreath 0, while the opposite end of the staff is crossed by the crossed bands D. At the outer end the handle is enlarged and has thereon an oblong open lield or panel E surrounded by a fanciful border, as shown, and the space between the panel and end is occupied by suitable sprays or branches F. The contour of the outerend of the handle is curved, as shown, while along the sides are the bars or edgings G terminating in graceful curves.
The essential feature of the design is the torch with its immediate]y-assoeiated decorations.
Having thus fully described the nature of my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
