DESIGN FOR A BASE FOR LAMPS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,607, dated August 20, 1895.

5 for a Base for Lamps, (Case D;) and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same,

to and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a perspective view of a base for lamps embodying my design.

This invention relates to a design for a base 15 for lamps, and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation as shown in the accompanying drawing.

The base is substantially rectangular in outline, terminating in upwardly-curved 2o scroll-feet A, the legs being connected by scroll and lattice work ornamentation. On

each corner isa prominent boss I surmounted by a grotesque mask C, which extends down in a scroll figure on each side of the boss 1% and extends upward to form the corners of the rectangular head D. Between the grotesque masks C is a beaded band E, above which is a vertical open ornamentation F. forming the four sides of the neck, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.

I claim The design for a base for lamps as herein described and shown in the accompanying illustration.
