SPECIFICATION for ing part Of Design NO. 24,133, dated March 19, 1895.
Application filed February 18, 1895- Serisl No. 538,901. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT PATrrz,of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for a Base for Lamp-Founts, (Case 13;) and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the 10 same, and which said drawingsconstitute part of this specification, and represent, in-
Figure 1, a side view of a base for lampfounts embodying my design; Fig. 2, a bottom plan view of the same.
This invention relates to a design fora base fo1'alarnp-fount,and the design consists in the configuration and ornamentation of the base as shown in the accompanying illustrations.
In general outline the base is square, having 20 four legs A, terminating in upwardly turned scroll feet B, the surface of the legs being ornamented by upspringing acanthus leaves 0,
inclosed by scrolls D. The corners of the base are formed by abrupt outcurving shell and scroll ornaments E, inclosing a plain surface F, the spaces between these corners being each filled bya rose and branching foliage G. From the corners, scrolls l-I curve abruptly inward, and then upward and outward, supporting similar, but less prominent scroll ornaments I, inclosiug plain surfaces J, separated by rose and leaf ornaments K, the whole curving slightly inward toward the upper edge, all as shown in the accompanying illustrations.
I claim The design for a lamp-fount base as herein shown and described.
