' UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN W. MAILLOT, OF NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO F. M. WHITING & 00., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR SPOON, 800.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,072, dated February 26, 1895.
Application filed January 26, 1895. Serial No. 536,378- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN W. MAILLOT, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at North Attleborough, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons, Forks, and the Like, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings Figure 1 represents a front or face View ofa spoon containing the design. Fig. 2 shows a rear View of the spoon with the design upon that face.
Upon the face of the spoon and following the outline thereof the design is arranged as follows: At the head of the handle A, upon its front face is located a double shell like figure, a portion of which conforms to the outline, with a center piece between. From the center between the shells on each side a leaf like scroll extends downwardly along the outline of the handle. Below this is located a second scroll on either side extending along the outline of the handle, and beneath this a third scroll to the end of the handle. In the upper end of the bowl is a shell like ornament and from this scrolls are on either side terminating in leafy projections extending toward the center of the bowl. On the rear face of the handle at the top is a shell like ornament, while on each edge of the outline of the spoon is a series of scrolls to the base of the handle.
I claim The design for a spoon, or the like, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN W. MAILLOT.
