SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,634, dated June 16, 1896.
Application filed May 4, 1896. Serial No. 590,230. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ERNEST W. CAMPBELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons, Forks, disc. and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 represents a front or obverse view of the spoon or fork handle, and Fig. 2 represents a reverse View of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists in a blank panel or shield at the end of the handle, having foliate scrolls extending inward from the margin, a Coronet-shaped tip at one end of the panel having scrolls and shell-like ornaments, and beads at the edges of the other end of the panel, said beads being largest at the end of the panel and gradually diminishing toward the center of the edges.
A is the panel, having foliate scrolls 1, extending inward from its edge, and the coronet-shaped tip 2, provided with scrolls 3 and shell-like ornaments 4. On each edge of the panel at the other end of the tip is a series of beads 5, gradually diminishing in size from the lower end toward the center of the edge. On the obverse side below the panel are foliate scrolls 6, and below these the stem of the handle is provided with two rows of beads 7. The reverse side below the panel has two curves 8, terminating in leaflets, the stem below being smooth or plain.
hat I claim is 1. The design for the handle of a spoon or fork as set forth.
2. In the design for the handle of a spoon or fork, the design of the obverse side of the handle as set forth.
3. In the design for the handle of a spoon or fork, the design of the reverse side of the handle, as set forth.
