DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,741, dated August 2, 1892.
Application filed June 13, 1892. Serial No. 436,589. Term of patent 3% years To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY L. WALLACE, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for a Spoon; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with accompanying drawing, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face View.
This invention relates to a design for the handle of spoons, forks, and like articles of table-service; and the design consists in the ornamentation of the handle, as shownin the accompanying illustration. The ornamentation represents a border springing from a seallop-shaped tip and runningdown each side the handle, terminating at the bowl in a leaf-like ornament extending down onto the bowl, the border representing a scrollwork projecting from the edge onto the surface, and about midway of the length of the handle a branch projects from one side across, and so as to give the appearance of a plain panel above, onto which the scrollwork from the borders appears to project, and one branch of the scroll work on one side of the handle is represented as projecting inward onto the said panel, the outline of the handle corresponding to the outline of the scrollwork, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The design foraspoon,as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
HENRY L. \VALLACE.
