DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR FORKS, 800.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,829, dated October 10, 1893.
Application filed August 28, 1893. Serial No. 484,237. Tenn ofpatent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN T. CURRAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, Kings county, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design forthe Handles of Forks, &c.,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
The drawing shows a front view of my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in the waved contour of the side edges of the stem of the handle and a shield-like surface wrought into the upper end thereof, surmounted by a crest of curved lines branching from the top of the shield outward and down to the sides thereof.
A is the stem of the handle, and a, b are the waved edges thereof. These edges are orna.
mented by Waving lines a, b wrought in the 20 handle and following the adjoining edges between the outward swells of which are perforated scroll ornaments c.
Bis the shield-like surface. It has suitable curved lines (1 surrounding it, some of which join the waved lines of the stem below.
0 is the crest having the curved lines e end ing in volutes, extending from the top of the shield C down to both sides. The spaces between these curved lines are partly open.
What I claim is- The design for the handles of forks &c. consisting of the design substantially as shown.
