F. GUILLEAUME.
VASE.
No. 21,477. Patented Apr. 19, 1892.
2 V 3%, flflfozvlu fi UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANZ GUILLEAUME, OF BONN, GERMANY.
DESIGN FOR A VASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,477, dated April 19, 1892.
Application filed March 24, 1892- Eerial No. 426,319. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANZ GUILLEAUME, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Bonn, in the Empire of Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Vases; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereoinwhich form a part of this specification.
The distinguishing characteristics of my design are shown in the accompanying drawing, in which the reference-letter a represents a Grecian vase provided with a top or neck j, which is surmounted by a cap land knob on on the top of the cap. Handles 0 start from the shoulders k of the vase and extend downwardly, terminating in scrolls g, h, and i. The upper inner ends of the handles terminate in a knob or scroll d and the upper outer edges are provided with knobs or serrations 0.
My present design comprehends the floral decorations in connection with the foregoing formation; and it consists of a bouquet of flowers extending downwardly from a stem j, the larger end of which commences from the scroll d, near one of the handles 0, and extends in a diagonal direction across the shoulder of the vase. This stem bears raggededge flowers n, out of which extend other stems p, bearing flowers q, r, and 8. These overlie sundry smaller branches and flowers of more delicate structure and tint.
Having thus described my design, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The design for a vase or similar article, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signaturein presence of two witnesses.
FRANZ GUILLEAUME.
