RUDOLPH GNICHWITZ, OF ASHBURNE, ASSIGNOR TO THE MATHER MANU- FACTURING COMPANY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,864, dated December 2, 1890. Application filed November 5, 1890. Serial No. 370,426. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, RUDOLPH GNIGHWITZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ashburne,in the county of Montgomery and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful and original Design for a Font of Printing-'lype, of Which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The leading features of this design fora font of printing-type are the heavy swells or shadings at the top and bottom of capitals, the harpstring lines crossing the capitals, the curled terminals of capitals and lowercase, the logotypes Co. and No, top and bottomswells or shading in lower-case letters, and the pointed terminals, heavy swells or shading, and curls or scrolls of the numerals, in addition to the general script-like shape or configuration of the various characters forming the font of printing-type.
The font includes capitals, lower case, numerals, punctuation-marks, and logotypes, the 8:, $5, and all of substantially the shape and configuration shown in the annexed drawing or impression, and all of the several characters include one or more of the leading features of the design above specified.
