To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM W. JACKSON a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful Design 'for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My design relates to the configuration of the characters of a font of printing-type.
The leading features of the design are, first, the curled lower terminals of the capitals A, B, C, D, E, F, H, J, K, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, and Y; second, the pointed upper terminals of the capitals H, K, N,U,V,W, and Y; third, the fiat tops of capital S and lower-case s; fourth, the convex descending lines in the lower-case h, m, and n, and, fifth, the convex ascending lines in the lower-case u and y, which line in each latter ends in a sharp point.
The accompanying drawing fully illustrates these several features of my design and renders further description unnecessary.
