Description

DESIGN.
0. E. BENTLEY. BOTTLE.
No. 20,026. v PatentedJuly 15, 1890.1
W/TNESSES: IN VENTOI? UNITED STATES PATENT ()FEIGE.
oHARLEs E. BENTLEY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,026, dated July 15, 1890. Application filed June 3, 1890. serial No. 354,136. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that I, CHARLES E. BENTLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Bottle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof, and in which the bottle is shown in one perspective View, which fully illustrates the design.
The leading feature of my design for a bottle or dressing-case ornament consists, mainly, in the peculiar configuration of its lower body portion, which is surmounted by a comparatively long neck or stem, as hereinafter more fully described.
The body portion A of the bottle or ornament has the appearance of being turned in a lathe in circular outline, and is largest in diameter near its base or bottom, where it is formed with two circumferential verticallyconvexed portions or beads 1 2, separated by a circumferential concavity or groove 3, shown about as wide as one of the beads, although I am not limited to this precise width of the groove. From the upper bead 1 the sides of the bottle sweep upward and inward on a ver tically-concaved line a to the neck or stem at of the bottle, which may be straight or cylindrical for its Whole length, but is preferably enlarged toward its upper end, as shown. From the lower bead 2 the sides of the bottle curve rather sharply inward and downward at 5 to the base or bottom 6 of the bottle.
An ordinary cut-glass stopper is shownin the neck or stem of the bottle.
I claim as my invention The design for a bottle, substantially as herein shown and described.
CHARLES E; BENTLEY. Witnesses:
R. H. HARDING, J r., ELIZABETH STARKEY.
