UNITED STATES GEORGE H. F. SCHRADER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A TIRE-VALVE CAP.
SPECIFICATION forming art of Design Nd. 32,855, dated June 19, 1900.
Application filed April 15, 1899. Serial No. 713,208. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE H.F.SCHRADER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Tire-Valve Cap, of which the following is a specification.
This design relates to a valve-cap-such, for example, as a tire-valve cap.
The new design pertains to the shape of a valve-cap.
My design is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which= Figure 1 is a side elevation of a tire-valve cap embodying my present invention. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof looking at right angles to Fig. 1, and 'Fig. 3 is a plan View thereof.
Referring to the drawings, let A designate the lower or body part, B the upper or top part, and C the middle or grasping portion, of a tire-valve cap. The body or lower part A is the usual smooth cylindrical band. The middle or grasping portion 0 is the usual roughened or serrated projecting band of greater diameter than the body, and the top wall or part 13 extends inwardly from the band 0.
The distinctive feature of the design consists in a tip or projection D on the top B, havinga transverse recess E crossing its upper end diametrically and extending inwardly longitudinally of it throughout part of its and of a materially-smaller diameter than the latter.
The small recessed projection D on the top of the cap gives the cap a distinctive and pleasing appearance. The smooth body and projection, differentiated in diameter and dis posed, respectively, below and above the rough middle portion, are in marked contrast with the latter. The cap as a whole has a pleasing appearance.
What I claim is- The design for a valve-cap, as shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
GEORGE E. E. soHRADER. Witnesses:
GEORGE H. FRASER, THOMAS F. WALLACE.
