d 6 6 J 6 m UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH J. MONAIIAN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A BEER-PIPE CLEANER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,887, dated April 13, 1897.
Appli ation l February 13, 1896. Serial No. 579,178. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOSEPH J. MoNAHAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ohicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new, uselar form in plan View and having its sides gradually converging toward its upper end, the cap portion B, snrmounting the upper end of said body portion and having flattened edges, and the laterally-projecting stems or portions B O, extending from the lower end of said body portion A. The portion A is round or circular in plan section, as shown in Fig. 2, and its sides are formed on slight incurves converging at their upper ends toward a cap D,which slightly overhangs the sides of the body portion A and is provided with a prismatic or angular edge and a convexed or upwardly swelled top or surface. The portions B 0 lead from opposite sides and the lower end of the body portion A and diametrically opposite each other, and each is provided with circumferential depressions, as clearly shown in the drawings. Between the portion B and the body A is formed an enlargement E, having a lateral or transverse perforation F for the reception of the plug shown in dotted lines. The upper and lower sides of the enlargement E are rounded off on the curves 6 e upwardly and downwardly, respectively, to the body portion A.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The new and original design or useful shape for beer-pipe cleaners, substantially as herein shown and described.
JOSEPH J. MONAIIAN.
