UNITED STATES MONRAD JOIIN OLSEN,
PATENT OFFICE.
OF DES MOINES, IOWA.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,134, dated February '7, 1899. Application fiierl January 11, 1899. Serial No. 701,884. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MONRAD JOHN OLSEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Des Moines, in the county of Polk and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bottles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section, and Fig. 3 is a bottom perspective View.
The leading feature of my design consists in a body portion of rectangular shape having chamfered edges, a neck portion extending from the upper side of the body portion and surmounted by a circular lip, and a base portion below the body portion, with a reentering groove between the body portion and base portion. Thus, referring more particularly to the drawings, the body portion A is rectangular in shape and its edges are chamfered or flattened, as at a a, and extending from the top side is a rounded neck portion B, merging into the body portion, and above this is a projecting flange or lip portion 0, the edges of which are rounded, as at 0. Below the body portion is the base D, which is also rectangular in shape and of less dimensions than the body portion, and between the body portion and the base portion is a reentering groove E, one side of which, as e, is straight, while the other portion, as e, is rounded. The under side of the base D has a circular depression F.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a bottle substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MONRAD JOHN OLSEN.
