Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK W. BEBERDICK, OF WEST HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY,
DESIGN FOR A COAT-PATTERN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,219, dated February 14, 1899;
Application filed November 21, 1898. Serial No. 697,105. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK W. BEBERDIcK, a citizen of the United States, residing at West Hoboken, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Coat-Pattern, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing represents in plan view a pattern of one side and half of the back of the coat, showing my new design, and it will be understood that the other side and half of the back are the same.
' As shown in the drawing, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the part A, forming one side and half the front and half of the back, and in the particular shape or contour given to the upper edge or ends of these parts. From the point a the edge of the part A extends outwardly and downwardly in a full curve to the point a, from which point the edge of the part A extends downward in a straight line to the point a. From the point a the edge of the part A extends in a straight horizontal line, forming the bottom of the part A. From the point a the edge of the part A extends downwardly in a sharply-inclined straight line to the point a which deviates but slightly from the vertical, forming, with the curved line a a, a sharp upwardly-projecting portion. From the point a the edge of the part A is curved inwardly and upwardly to the point a forming the curved line a, constituting a part of the neck-opening. The point a is on substantially the same horizontal plane as the point 00*. From the point a the edge of the part A extends in a slight downward and then upward curve to the point a"', forming the compound-curved line a. The point a is located below the point ct and slightly above the point a The compound-curved line a represents the shoulder line or seam. The edge of the upper portion of the part A extends downwardly and inwardly from the point a in a curve deviating only slightly from a straight line to the point 0 from which point the said edge is curved in a small semicircle to the point 0 From the point C the edge of the part A extends upwardly in a curved line, deviating only slightly from a straight line to the point I). From the point I) the edge of the part A extends upwardly in a straight but sharply-inclined line to the point 11 thus giving the shape of an obtuse angle to the point I). The said point I) is located opposite but slightly below the point a and is separated therefrom by the narrow space 12 The upper edge of the part A extends from the point 19 in a downward curve to the point 12 which point is located slightly below the point b but on the same horizontal plane as the point a The outer edge of the part A extends in a straight line b from the extreme upper point 11 to the extreme lower point 19.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The design for a coat-pattern as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of the subscribing witnesses, this 12th day of November, 1898.
FRANK W. BEBERDICK.
