Patented Apr. 1, 1890.
UNITED STATES VALENTINE G. SUIIUUK, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR 'lO 'lllli SII'lRO BROTHERS BHAID COMPANY, OF NE\Y YORK.
DESIGN FOR BRAID.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,747, dated April 1, 1890.
Application filed February 8, 1890. Serial No. 339,739. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VALENTINE G. ScHUcK, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for the ()rnamentation of \Vave Braids; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The photograph illustrates pieces of wave or serpentine square braid ornamented with my original design invented therefor.
The characteristic feature of my said new design consists in the three parallel stripes l) 0 (Z, which appear, as shown in the photograph, upon one face of the braid A, and which extend each the entire length of the piece, each stripe being substantially uniform in width and made to conform closely to the undulating contour-line definingench edge of the braid. These stripes are severally produced in different contrasting or harmonizing colors, so as to present a distinct well-dc fined effect to the eye.
I claim as my invention- The design for the ornamentation of wave or serpentine braid shown in the accompanying photograph and described in the specification, and which consists of three longitudinal stripes upon the face of the braid, each of uniform width, and which conform to the contour-lines of the edges of the braid.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing" witnesses.
VALEN'IINE G. SFHI UK.
