DESIGN FOR A CABINET-DESK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,746, dated April 1, 1890. Application filed January 8, 1890. Serial No. 336,308. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN ROBERTS, of Indianapolis, county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and original Design for Cabinet-Desks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which like letters refer to like parts.
My invention consists in a new and original design for cabinet-desks, and will be nnderstood from the following description.
The accompanying drawing shows a perspective View of my desk with the cupboard partly open.
The desk is of a rectangular shape, the body part having two pedestals, one of which contains a series of drawers and the other a cupboard and drawer above.
The top of the desk is shown of the usual cabinet form; but the edges thereof, the sides of the cabinet portion, the table itself, the corners of the pedest-als, and the parting-rails between the drawers are all rounded at the edges and have no moldings, the parting-rails and sides of the pedestals projecting beyond the drawer-fronts, and the handles of the drawers are rounded to correspond with the edges of the front and top of the desk. The design thus produced, although simple, is harmonious and tasteful and makes a favorable impression upon the eye.
That I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is the following:
