DESIGN FOR A STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,662, dated February 18, 1890.

Application iiled January 2'7, 1890. Serial No. 338,289. Term uf patent 14 years.

To all whom it my concern.-

Be it known that I, THOMAS I. RANKIN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented 5 certain Improvements. in Designs for Stove- Platcs, of which the following is a specification. l

My design for the plate of a stove is fully illustrated in the annexed drawings, in 1o which Figure lis a face view of the plate; and Fig. is a sectional view on the line 1 2, Fig. 1.

The essential features of my design are, rst, the raised ire-door and the bracketshaped projection below the same; second, the general design. of the fire-door, and, third, the general design of the ovelrdoor.

A is one of the side plates of the stove, B the oven-door, and C the tire-door, which projects outward from the plate A, as shown in the cross-section,Fig. 2. Below the door C is a rinl a, in imitation of the outer portion of a shelf, and below this riln is an ornamented bracket D, also projecting from the stove- 2 5 plate, as shown in the crosssection, Fig. 2,

this bracket forming, with the door, the ontline shown in relief. The ornamentation on this bracket portion is of a fcliated character.

The design of the firedoor C comprises a 3o wide band c at the base of the door, while around the top and sides of the door is a band studded with alternate square and oblong projections e. In the center of the door is a rosette f, surrounded by foliated erna ments g. The upper and lower edge of the oven-door and one side of the same are straight, while the opposite side is partly straight and partly curved, and around the top and both sides of the door is a band I), having a series of projections b thereon. On the lower por- 4o tion of the door are bars 7i, with upturned ends, and having at thc center a foliated or` nainent h. At the top of the door is a panel ym, and on the center of the body of the door is a naine-plate B', with scroll-border and 45 medallion.

1. The within-described design for the side plates of a stove, said design consisting of the oven-door, fire-door, and bracket beneath the 5o latter, substantially as shown and described.

2. In a design for a stove, the design coinprising the raised door and the raised bracket beneath the same, substantially as described and shown.

3. In a design for a stove, the design for the iredoor C, substantially as shown and de scribed.

4. In a design for a stove, the design for the oven-door B, substantially as shown and de- 6o scribed.
