Viki/7955 25. gg yfgfla 4% X" j wu y UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
RUDOLPIIE IV. E. CI'IRISTESEN, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE RUSSELL & ERWIN MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESlGN FOR A DOOR-LOCK CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,323, dated October 1, 1889. Application filed August 27,1839. Serial No. 322,083. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, RUDOLPHE W. E. CHRIS- TESEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain,in the countyof Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Door- Lock Case, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front elevation showing my design, and Fig. 2 is a sectional View thereof on the line a; a: of Fig, 1. The leading feature of my design consists in a raised and spirally beaded border in imitation of a rope or cord.
A is the central portion of the face of the lock case or box. and B the central portion of the keeper which accompanies the case, and is of a corresponding design. The general contour of the case is rectangular.
C designates a raised and rounded border for the central portion A, which border extends along near the edge of the case upon all sides thereof. This raised border has a rounded or bead-like contour in cross-section, and it is ornamented by a series of spirallyarranged beads a, to give the border the appearance of one side of a rope or cord. The reverse side of the case is of the same design. The entire border is spirally beaded on the case, but the border on that side of the keeper which is adjacent to the case is left plain, and thereby a better and more pleasing effect is given to the complete design than would he the case if two spirally-beaded borders were arranged closely together.
The central portion A, inside the raised border C, may be provided with an ornament or ornaments, as at D; but it is obvious that the same are not an essential part of my design.
What I claim is The design for a door-lock case herein shown and described, the same comprising the raised and rounded border extending along and around the edge of the case, and having the series of spirally-arranged beads, as set forth.
RUDOLPHE W. E. CHRISTESEN.
