DESIGN FOR A LATCH-CASE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,639, dated February 11, 1890.

Application filed December 9, 1889. Serial No. 333,148. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, RUDOLPHE W. E. CHRIS- TESEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Latch-Case,- of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of a latch-case and keeper showing my design, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists in the shape of the outline of the casehaving the curved and scalloped corners and in the surface ornamentation.

A designates the body of the latch-case, and B the keeper, of the same general design. One end of the case is straight, as seen in front view, and ornamented by the vertical bead a. The top and bottom edges of the case from this bead are indented for a short distance to the bead b, which extends vertically across the front of the case and over the top and bottom edges. From said bead the top and bottom edges are again indented and then extend gradually to the rounded and scalloped corners, where the case is ornamented by beads 0, extending from said corners inwardly, as shown, the two middle beads at each corner merging into the circular bead d on the front of the case. Another of said beads 0 also merges into the ornamental boss f. The end of the case between these scalloped corners and heads is rounded, as shown. The keeper B is of a corresponding design and is provided with the same ornamental head a at its vertical edge, the top and bottom edges being slightly indented and the rounded corners at the opposite end being 4o scalloped and ornamented by beads 0, while the end of the case between said corners and heads is also rounded. One of the heads 0 at each corner merges into the ornamental boss f.

What I claim is l. The design for a latch-case herein shown and described, the same comprising the shape formed by the straight vertical edge at one end, the top and bottom indented edges, the rounded scalloped corners, and the rounded end, and the surface ornamental beads extending inwardly from said corners, as set forth.
