DESIGN FOR A LATCH-CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.
19,553, dated January 7, 1890.
Application filed October 30, 1889- Berial No. 328.703. Term of patent years.
To all whom it may concern.-
30 it known that I, GEORGE S. BARKENTIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and Original Dcs'gu for a Latch-Case, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the latchcase, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists in the vertically-arranged ornamental beads on the sides and the chain-like ornaments at the top and bottom, figured in imitation of cords.
A A are the sides of my latch-case, and B the top, which is like the bottom. At the back edge of the case is a vertical head 3, and at the front edge a double head 4. Parallel to said double head, at some little distance therefrom, is another plain head 5. Between the double head 4 and said plain head 5 is an ornamental head 6, formed of curved and straight edges in strap-like form, as shown, and on that side of the head 5 which faces the back edge of the case is a vertical head 7,
figured in imitation of a cord, and provided at intervals with leaf-like projecting ornaments S. The top and bottom are also ornamented with aeordlike bead arranged in the form of three chain-links .l t) 9, as shown.
That I claim is-- l. The design for a latclrcase herein shown and described, the same comprising the sides A A, having the plain vertical heads, the strap-like and cord-like ornamental beads, and the top and bottom having the cord-like bead arranged in the form of three chainlinks, as set forth.
2. In the design for a latch-ease herein shown and described, the side A, having the plain heads 3 4 5, the ornamental strap-like heads 6, and the vertical cord-like heads 7 8, as set forth.
3. In the design for a latch-case herein shown and described, the top plate having the bead arranged in the form of three chainlinks and figured in imitation of a cord, as set forth.
