To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES W. STIFF and JosEPH WATROUS, citizens of the United States, residing at Foxborough, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Book-Cover Protectors, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing, in which is represented a plan of the back of a book with the cover laid thereon.
Our invention has for its object to ornament hook-cover protectors by a series of lines, as hereinafter described.
In the drawing, the letter A designates two parallel lines extending from top to bottom of the cover on opposite sides of theintermediate space, D. A series of lines, B, extend laterally from these two lines across the back of the cover. Ihe corner-pieces are provided with diagonally-extending lines 0, one of said lines running along the inner edge of the corner-piece and intersecting the laterally-extending lines B, forming an ornamental line at the end thereof and a finished appearance to the edge of the corner-pieces. The form of line is that shown it being composed of contrasting colors alternating witheach other and forming a checkered line.
The whole presents to the eye an attractive and ornamental cover.
The principal features of our design are the lines extending laterally across the central portion of the cover and the lines extending v diagonally across the cornerpieces.
Having described our invention, what we claim is- The design for book-cover protectors herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we affix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
