SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,176, dated June 25, 1889. Application filed April 19, 1889- Serial No. 308,901. Term ofpatent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LoUIs A. DOUILLET, a citizen of the Republic of France, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a Design for the Surface Ornamentation of Buttons to be Used for Gloves or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification.

My design, which is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, has,first, a distinguishing background, which in the case of a metal button may be formed by roughening the metal, and in other buttons by any effect giving the same appearance. Upon this background is the distinguishing feature of my design, which is a series of bars radiating from a point eccentric to the center of the design. This principal feature of the design is inclosed by a circular boundary formed by a circular LOUIS A. DOUILLE'l.
