DESIGN FOR THE SURFACE ORNAMENTATION 0F GLOVE-BUTTONS.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 19,174, dated June 25, 1889. Application filed April 19, 1889. Serial No. 308,899. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that l, LOUIS A. DOUILLET, a citizen of the Republic of France, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented aDesign for the Surface Ornamentzttion of Buttons to be Used for Gloves or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification.
My design consists of a background, which in the ease of a metal button may be formed by a roughening of the surface of the metal, and in buttons of any other material any effect may be employed to give the same appearance. Upon the background is the distinguishing feature of my design, consisting of two diametrical bars crossing each other at right angles, and in the four angles thus formed a re four V-sheped bars having their sides parallel to the diametrieal bars.
The design thus formed may be inclosed by a circular band following the contour of the button and connecting the outer ends of the other bands.
\Vhat I claim as l1GW,tl1(l desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A design for the surface ornamentation of glove-buttons, substantially as herein shown and described, having for its distinguishing feature two diametrical bars crossing each other at an angle, with a V-shaped bar in each of the fourangles thus formed, and the whole design being inclosed by a boundary consisting of a circular band inclosing the outer ends of the said bars.
