DESIGN.
F. B. WARNER. BTTLB.
'Patented Aug. 16. 1887.
Snom/kou *QYAW STB WA the() UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANCIS B. NVARNER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,640, dated August 16, 1887.
Application filed July 15` 1881. Serial No. 244,425. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern,.-
Be it known that I, FRANoIs B. WARNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Bottle; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, refer ence being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
The design has reference to bottles of that class commonly used for olive-oil, salads, and the like; and its essential features consist of a round and symmetrical body having its greatest diameter at a point near its base, the upper portion of the bottle being provided with two annular rims.
The nature of the design is fully shown in the accompanying drawing, to which reference may be had.
The bottom of the bottle, which is circular in form, is slightly concaved and of adiameter suiieiently great to form a substantial base.
The lower two-thirds of the bottle is plain and entirely free from bands, rims, or other ornamentation. At a point one-fifth of the distance from the base of the bottle the diameter ofthe body is the greatest, and from this point the sides gradually taper to either end of the bottle. At a point one-third of the distance from its upper end the bottle is provided with an annular rim, and a second annular Iim is provided near its upper end.
I claim as my invention- The design for a bottle composed of a round body having its greatest diameter one-fifth of the distance from the base of the bottle, gradually tapering from this point to either end of the same, and provided with an annular rim formed at a point ucar the top and a second annular rim formed ata point one-third of the distance from the top of the bottle, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRANCIS B. WARNER.
