DESIGN FOR A JAR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,968, dated January 10, 1899.
Application filed December 10, 1898. Serial No. 698,937. Term of patent 14 years,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEWIS A. RAGSDALE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, city of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Jars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing represents a perspective of my invention.
As shown in the drawing, the leading features of my design consist in a jar having a plain cylindrical body A, the diameter of which is about equal to one-half of the height of the jar, is rounded at its lower end at a, has straight parallel sides extending from the lower end or rounded part a, which are eased off into a rounded or convex part b, then into a hollow or concave part c, then into a straight part d, which extends to the upper end of the body.
The body of the jar is surmounted by a cylindrical cap or cover 8 the diameter of the upper straight part (I of the jar. The sides 6 of the cap are straight and form a continuation of the straight or parallel part (1, and the upper part of the cap is rounded at f.
