To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, of Brooklyn, New York, have invented a new and. original Design for Carpets, of which the i'ol lowin is a s ccification reference bein had 5 a i a to the accompanying photograph,which forms a part of the same.

Thein vention relates toa design to be worked into or upon surfitces such as carpets or similar 10 fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view ofa carpet showing my new design.

The design consists of four leaf and flower groups having lichen-like connecting-stems, all an auged on and overlying a ground of lace like Work, as is clearly shown in the photograph. The groups have each several large 20 open leaves massed with small star-shaped flowers, with small. flowers scattered along the leaf and flower groups, with their connecting lichen-like parts, and the ground of lace-like Work, substantially as shown and described.
