To on whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Hnzmy TIBBE, acitizen of the United States, residing at Washington, in the county of Franklin and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Smoking-Pipes, of which the following is a. specification reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
My invention consists of the new design For a smoking-pipe, which I will now proceed to describe.
Referring to the drawing, in which the figure is a side view of the pipe, A iepresents the bowl, and B B the stem. The bowl A is of a. general conical shape, with itssnntller end at the bottom. The stein B B is made with a large portion, 13, having ornamental transverse beads and curves, and a small portion, B, which is smooth throughout its length, and curved to form a mouth-piece. The bowl A is fixed t0 the larger portion, B, of the stem at a point between the ends of the some and at an angle of about forty-five degrees. A necessary feature of the design is also the peculiar super- 2 5 indentations have their long axes transversely to the longitudinal axes of the parts A B, giving the appearance of corn-cob sections.
What I Claim is The design for asmokingpipe, consisting of the conical howl A, Straight and large stemsection B, having transverse heads and curves, and connected to the bowl at an angle, a described, between its ends, and the smooth stein section B, of raiueed diam eter, curved to form a month-piece, the bowl A and section ll be ing provided with numerous superficial indentations or pits, whose greatest length is transverse to the longitudinal axes of the bowl and stem, as shown and described.
