To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PHILIP H, RINN, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge or Emblem, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a novel design for pins, badges',. or'eri1blems which are made in the form of a Maltese cross; and itconsists of a'mosaic or inlaid work of squares upon the arms of the cross, so as to imitate a tessellated pavement in perspective, as will be more fully explained by reference to the accompanying drawing, in which the figure is a View of one side of my device.

The leading feature of my design is the inlaying of the arms of the cross with the repre sentation of tessellated pavementsin contrasting colors. v a The lines of divisionbetween the squares may be made as shown inthepresent case, one series being drawn parallel with the outer edges of the arms,- while the other series are drawn radiaily from the margin of the outer circle of the center to the outer edges. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is The herein-set-forth design for a badge or emblem, consisting, essentially, of a Maltese PHILIP HENRY RINN.
