To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LE RoY W. FAIRCHILD, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a Design for a Pencil-Case, of which the following is a specification.
My design belongs to that class which are denominated charms, and which usually consist of some fancy or ornamental article usually worn on a watch-chain.
The design in this case consists of a case the body of which is made in the form of a tea-pot, as shown in the accompanying photograph, forming a part of this specification.
This case or body A may be of the precise form shown, or any form or style in which teapots are usually made, and may have its surface ornamented by engraving or by raised plement may be substituted without changing the design.
The extension-tube B is provided at its upper end with a cap or head, 0, which, when the extension-case is closed, fits down upon the top of the case or body A, and thus forms in appearance a cover for the tea-pot or case A.
By making the parts A, B, and c of difi'erent kinds of metal or different colors or shades of the same metal, or ornamenting the body A' with raised or other figures of a difl'erent metal or color, the article may be made to present a. very ornamental appearance. If desired, it may have a ring attached either to the body A or its handle, or to the top 0 of the part B, for securing it to the watch or other chain.
I claim- The design for a case for a pencil or similar implement, consisting of the body A, made in the form of a tea-pot, and the extension-case B, provided with the cap or head 0, to form a cover for the body A when closed, as shown and described.
