UNITED STATES WALLACE E. MEYERS,'OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
GLOVE.
Application led August 19, 1927. Serial No. 214,173.
This invention relates to improvements in gloves and more particularly to a glove having an improved arrangement of ornamental cuff'1 which is capable of assuming various positions and which may be of contrasting colors on opposite sides so as to permit the user of the glove to give to the cuff and hence to the finish of Vthe glove various shapes and designs.
A further object is to provide a glove ofy this character which is neat and attractive in appearance and strongand durable in use.
7With these and other objectsl in view, t-he invention consists in certain novel features of construction and. conbinations and arrangements of parts which will be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings*- Figure l is a view inelevation of my improved glove;
Figure 2 is an exaggeratedrview` in section, on the line 22 of Figure l;
Figure 3 is a fragmentary view in elevation, showing the Glove, with the cuff por-4 tion thereof in a different position from that shownin Figure l; v
Figure l is an exaggerated view in section, on the line H of Figure 3;
Figures 5 and 6 are Views similar to Figures l and 2, respectively, illustrating the cuff of the glove in a still different position.
l represents the glove, and 2 the cuif thereof. This cuff 2 is secured to the edge of the glove l by a line or lines of stitching 3 which are located intermediate the edges of the cuff 2. The edges of the cuff 2 .may be ornamented by stitching or embroidery 4 or decorated in any manner desired, and it is preferable that the cuil' be of two thicknesses of material which may be of different colors, or the inner face of the cuff ma be of one color andthe outer face of anot ier, this effect being derived in any desired way.
It is of course to be understood that thev cuifis flexible and foldable on the lines of stitching 3 so that the cuiin may lie flat against the outer portion of the glove, as shown in Figures l and 2; may have its upper portion folded down over its outer portion, as shown in Figures 3 and 4; or may be folded within the glove proper, as shown in Figures 5 and 6. Furthermore, 55 the cuff may be folded in other ways desired to give a finish to the wrist portion of the glove to suit the desire of the user.
I of course do not limit myself to the materials nor to the exact manner of fold but desire to cover broadly the idea of connecting the cuff to the edge of the glove in such a manner that the cuff may be folded or turned in different ways. g
Various changes and alterations might be made inthe general form of the parts described without departing from the spirit of the invention and hencel do not limit myself to the precise details set forth but consider myself at liberty to make such changes and alterations as fairly fall withinv the spirit and scope of the appended claim.
I claim: As a new article of manufacture, a glove andA a cuff thereon, said cuff secured to the edge of the glove by a line of stitching located intermediate the edges of the cuff whereby the cuff may be reversed and folded to vary the appearance of the same.
Signed at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, this 16 day of August, A. D. 1927. I
WALLACE E. MEYERS.
