DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,898, dated April 18, 1882.
Application filed March 15, 1882.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN W. KENNEDY, of the city of Troy, county of Rensselaer, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for theOrnamentation of Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification.
Myinvenlion relates to the ornamental form and surface ornamentation of a heating-stove anditsparts,as illustrated in the annexed photograph, forming a part of this specification.
My invention of a design consists, first, in the ornamental horseshoe form A, as applied to the stove-top, it having the ornamentation a upon its upper and toe end, with its heelprongs curved upwardly within the shoe to receive a trefoil figure, a, the shoe having the word Luck displayed on its face, and being connected by the curved studs b b with the cnniform base B, and the latter having in revolution upon its exterior the moldings b b 11.
Second, my invention also consists in the form and ornamentation of the top cover of the stove, (designated at 0,) and composed of the rectangular top flat panel, 0', bordering-fillet 0, oval 'moldin g c, base-fillet (below the latter) 0, and the subtending top proper, having the top flat surface, a, and the exterior beveled edge, a.
Third, my invention also consists in theform and surface ornamentation of the end extensions of the stove, (designated at D D,) and com posed of the exterior vertical recessed panel, d, having the doubly-filleted border d and the central relief ornamentation, d", the sides of the extension D and the top of thelatter, where they unite at the front with the vertical face, having the moldings (1 d and the extension D, having the rounded corners d" d" at the top, the projecting and molded base d, and the fluted ornamentation d where uniting with the stove-body.

Fifth, my invention also consists in the ornamentation of the lower doors, F F, and the display on theirexterior surfaces of the molded and bordered panelsff, and thehorseshoe figuref, the latter being in relief and having the shoe-prongs continued up within the shoe to receive a trefoil figure.
Sixth, my invention also consists in the design for the ornamentation of the feet of the stove, produced by means of a horseshoe figure in relief on a bordered panel on the front of the foot, as shown and designated at 0.
Having thus described my invention of an ornamental design for the parts of a heatingstove, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The ornamental design for the stove-top, consisting of the horseshoe form A, having the top ornamentation, a, and the interior ornamentatioma, arranged upon the prongs of the shoe, as shown and described.
2. The ornamental design of the stove-top and its support, in combination, consisting of the horseshoe form A, curved studs 1) b. the cuniform base of the top B, and the moldings b b b in revolution upon the latter, as shown and described.
3. The design for the ornamentation of the top cover of the stove and as designated at 0, consisting of the rectangular flat top panel,c', bordering-fillet 0, oval moldings c, base-fillet c, and the subtending top proper, having the pr'ojectin g top surface, 0 and the exterior beveled edge, 0, as shown and described.
4. The design for the ornamental form and surface ornamentation of the end extensions of the stovehody, (designated at D,) and in combination, consisting of the vertical panel 11, having the tloubly-iilleted border 11, the central relief ornament, d, the moldings d and d, where thesides andouterendsoftheextensious unite, the rounded top corners, d d, the pro jected and molded base (1, and the fluted ornamentation d applied to the sides of the extensions where the latter attach to the stove body, as shown and described.
5. The design for the ornamentation of the panels E E upon the front of the stove at the sidesof the doors,and consisting of the beaded borders, fan ornaments in the corners, and the double reversing horseshoe figures c a, and their ornamentation as arranged in the center of the panel, as shown and described.
6. The design for the ornamentation of the doors F F, consisting of the molded and bordered panelsf and the horseshoe fignresf in relief on the panels, as shown and described.
7. The design for the ornamentation ot' the exterior surface of the feet, consisting of the panel 0 and the relief figure of a horseshoe dis- 5 played in the panel, as shown and described.
