DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,504, dated October 4, 1881.
Application filed August 9, 1881. Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom it may concer-n:
Be it known that I, HENRY HUNT, of Greenville, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented anew and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and conguration of figures hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face View of a carpet having my new design.
A is a large rectangle containing a large bouquet, B. Half of these figures A and B is shown at the upper and halt' at the lower part of the photograph. In one upper corner ofthe igureAis a circular figure, C, decorated with inner smaller circular gures. In the other upper corner of the figure A is a starshaped figure, D. The top of the gure A is castellated in appearance, as shown by the stripe a. Above this stripe bis another igure, E,.containing a floral ornament, b, on a decorated background, d. In the upper part ofthe figure E is an inclined stripe, c, having V- shaped bend. III the upper corners ot' the figure E are rosettes f and g. Between the Iigures C, E, and g starts apeutagonal figure,
F, containing bouquet h. A broad band, i, separates the figure F from gures E and g. Above the gure F is another rectangle, Gr, containing a bouquet-', and below saidbouquet a diagonal stripe, K, which is ornamented with rosettes and other decorations. In the photograph part of figure F is shown at the righthand side, part in the upper and the remainder in the lower left-hand corner. Likewise igure G is shown partly on the left, partly in the upper and partly in the lower right-hand corner.
The order in which the above-mentioned figures are arranged relatively to each other may be varied without materially varying the character of the design.
