MYRON H. KINSLEY, OF WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE ONEIDA COMMUNITY, (LIMITED,) OF LENOX, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON AND FORK HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,308, dated June 14, 1881.
Application filed May .2, 1881. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern Beit known that I, MYEON H. KINsLEY, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, haveinvented a new Design for Spoon and Fork Handles; and I do hereby declare thc following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specication, and represen ts a face view.
This invention relates to a design for spoon and fork handles; and it consists in the ornamentation as shown in the accompanying illustration.
In outline the handle gradually expands from the narrower portion, terminating in a semicircle at the tip. On the surface, at thetip, are two circular beads struck from the tip as a center, with radial points from the first toward the tip, and a border of points below the second bead, andlace-work between the two beads, the Whole representing a tip of lace-work as of spherical shape. Across the face, below the plain portion of the handle, is a. transverse z 5 band of oruam ented lace-work, and above this band a tracery of scroll-work branches from the right and left toward each edge and upward. Below this band is the representation of growing flag, and in their midst is the representa- 3o tion of a sterk standing. Below this and extending onto the narrower portion is a tracery of scroll-work, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The herendescribed design for spoon and fork handle, consisting of the semicircular tip, with the segment-shaped beads and radiating lace-work, transverse ornamented band below, tracery of scroll-work branching from the band 4o to the right and left upward, and the representation oi' growing iiag below, with standing stork, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
