DESIGN FOR A COFFlN-HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,955, dated March 10, 1885.

.To all whom it may concern.:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM R. McCoaIas, a citizen of the United States, residing` at Oakley, in the county of' Hamilton and State of Ohio, have produced. a new and original design for Handles for Cofins or Burial-Cases; of which the following is aspecieation, reference being had to theaccompanying` drawing'.
The figure in the drawing represents Iny newly-produced design. v
It consists ofa shield-shapcd plate on which is the handle proper, said shield having beveled edges ornaniented with heraldic designs, showing` upon its central portion a raised ure in the forni of a pointed ellipse, which elliptical ligure in turn displays a raised circular ornament provided with a cross, the whole of which, as well as the handle propIr, being in imitation of bea-ten or hammered metal, as shown.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim- A design for a coflin-handle, consisting of an attaching shield and handle-bar,said shield having,` beveled edges ornainented with heraldic designs, and bearing araised elliptical iigure, upon which is formed a raised circular design, the whole representing` beaten or ham- IneI-ed nietal.
