DESIGN FOR SUGAR-TONGS.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all Iwhom it 'may concern:

Be it known that I, ROBERT WALLACE, of Wallingfcrd, in the county of New Haven :md State of Connecticut, have invented a, new Design for Sugar-Tongs and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a. full, clear, and exact description of the sume, and which said drnwings constitute part of this specification, and represent in- Figure 1, a. side view, :und in Figure 2, the bow or spring extended.

This invention relates to n design for the spring portion of sugar-tongs, and tongs for similar purposes, the object being to make this part of the article ornement-al; and

My invention consists in the peculiar form or configuration of the edges of the spring, as more fully hereafter explained.

A is the handle oi' one part, and

B, the handle ofthe other part ot" the tongs.

C is the spring which connects the two parts.

Starting from the ends of the handle the spring is somewhat narrower than the handle, and straight for n short distance, then of ogee form, meeting with :in ornamental or irregular edge-:tt the center, as fnlly shown in fig. 2, of the accompanying drawings.

The surface of the spring may be ornmnented in any desirable style.
