DESIGN FOR SUGAR-TONGS.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ROBERT VVALLAOE, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Sugar- Tongs; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to he a. full, clear, and exact description ofthe same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent in Figure a side View, and in Figure 2, the bow or spring extended.

This invent-ion relates to a design for the spring portion of sngar-tongs and tongs for similar purposes, the object being to make ornamental this part of the article, which has heretofore been but a continuation of the handles.

My invention consists in a narrow straight springpiece connecting the two handles of the tongs.

A is the handle of one part, and

B the handle ofthe other part of the tongs, and may be of' any desirable style or form.

C, the spring, is of equal width, extending from one handle to the other, hut narrower than the handle, the handles themselves appearing to be finished independent of the spring.

The ornamentation ot' the spring may he in accordance with the taste of the mamiiaetnrer, or demands of the publie.

I claim as my invention- Ihe design herein described for the head or spring of sugar-tongs, consisting of a straight-edged narrow band, as fully shown in the accompanying illustrations.
