DESIGN FOR GLASSWARE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,296, dated November 6, 1877; application filed October 26, 1877.
i [Term of Patent 3 years] To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, J ENKIN J was, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Design for Glassware; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, formin g part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is an elevation of an article of glassware illustrating my design. Fig. 2 is a see- Fig. 3 is a section enlarged to more clearly illustrate the construction by which the effect is produced.
My present invention relates to certain improvements on Design No. 10,096, granted to me July 17, 1877 and is a design for the ornamentation of glassware.
It consists in forming upon the surface of the article a series of projections resembling drops or globules of water or rain-drops, some of which are or may be elongated, said drops or projections being distinct though arranged or grouped to produce any esired pattern.
In the drawing A indicates a bowl, B the foot thereof, and d a cover, all of which have been ornamented as specified.
In a form or shape of the class specified, the light will be concentrated in parts of the globular projections, while others will be in shadow, producing a peculiar, novel, and pleasing efect.
Having thus described my invention, what lclaim, and desire to secure by Letters Pat cut, is-
As a design for glassware, a series of glob ular or rain-drop projections formed on the surface of the article, so as to obtain the effect set forth.
