To all whom it 'may concern.:
lle it known that l, Wimmer l-l. Fox, of Lincohn. in the county of Lancaster and State oi Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful. improvements in l'ads; and l do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, suchas will enable others skilled in 4,the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in pads and more particularly to hip pads for use of base-ball players,--one object of the invention being to construct the device in such manner that a smooth ht shall be insured around the hips in the region of the Waist band of the trousers,
A further object is to avoid the use of a buclrleor other connecting means at the front portion oi the device Where the'same entends over or near the @abdomen of the wearer.
A further object is to construct the bip pads in such manner that the same'may be forced around to the rear of the hips and thus insure the protection of the latter in case the player should turn during the act of sliding to a base.
A further object is to construct and conneet hip pads tor use of base-ball players, in such manner thatthe same shall be comfortable to the wearer, fit hirn neatly and provideeffectual means for his protection YVith these objects in view the invention consists incertain novel features of construction and combinations of parts as hereinafter more fully described and pointed outl in the claim. f
