FRED HIE-SH, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
HOSE SUPPORTERE Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May '7, 1907.
Application filed November 1, 1906. Serial No. 341,531.
2'0 tall whom it Iii/any concern:
Be 1t known that I, FRED Hmsn, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of "1N ew York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hose-Supporters, of which the lfOllOWlIlg 1s a specification.
The numeral 1 represents a strap or band 1 of any suitable material, as elastic webbing,
which is ofe length suflicient to allow it to I be passed around the leg and crossed as shown; and which constitutes the main portion of the hose supporter. At or near one end of this strap I form a loop 2, prefernblv by means of a strip 3 of the some nmteriul sewed at each end to the outer side of the stra as shown, through which the other end of t e strap may be passed to fix and retain the crossing of the two ends. Preferably, alsopl' form a second loop r above the first loop by extending the upper end of the strip 3 as et and sewing it to the strap as shown, or in any other suitable manner; the second or upper loop serving as a means of adptstment since by passing the other end otthe strap'tthrough this loop the crossing is raised higher up on the leg and the supporter is in eil'ect thereby shortened as indicated by dotted lines. To each end of the strap 1, I attach it suitable fastening device by which the supporter may be secured to the top of the hose preferably using for this purpose it metal clasp 6, consisting of two hinged members co-opcrztting when swung together to lock and secure the hose between them, which is attached to the bond in such it way that. the cnd of the band will form it covering for the outer suriz'tcc of the buck clusp member and so keep the metal clasp from coming in contact with the leg or undergarment oi the wearer, all as shown, described and claimed by me in an application iilcd November (5, 1905, Serial No. 285,970.
The manner of using my new hose supporter and its mlva-ntu-ges are obvious and need not be recited.
\Vhat I claim as new, by Letters Patent, i.
A hose supportcr consisting of a strap comprising a singlc piece of elastic webbing adapted to pass around the leg and cross, one or more pcrnmncnt loops l'ormcd on the strzip near one end by attaching thcrcto a scm-rutc piccc of elastic webbingthrough w rich to pass the othcr end of the strap to fix or adjust the crossing, and ufastening device so attached to each 0nd of the strap that the strap will form a covering for the buck of'thc fastening device In testimony whereof l. have signed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
