J OSEPH SENDELBACH, OF GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA TERRITORY.
RTlClLlE-HOLDER.
Specificaton of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 24, 1905.
Application filed June 20, 1905. Serial No. 266.165.
To all whom it m/cty conccr'n:
Be it known that I. J OSEPH SENDELBAOH. a citizen of the United States, residing at Guthrie, in the county of Logan and Territory of Oklahoma, have invented new and useful Improvements in Article-Holders, of which the following' is a specification.
My invention is an article-holder, and has for its object certain novel features of construction hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Fignre 1 is a top plan view of the holder. Fig. is a similar view showing the holder in use. Fig. 3 is an elevation. Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the line 4 4. of Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the holder.
Referring specifically to the drawings, b denotes two flat spring-metal strips, which extend side by side through a transverse slot f, made in the horizontal arm /t of a bracket, the wall-piece of which is indicated at J and the brace at K. The strips extend outwardly a suitable distance from the arm on both sides thereof and form the jaws of a resilient clasp. The extremities of the strips are curved out- Wardly.I as at b', to permit the ready insertion of the garment or other article therebetween.
On each side of the slot f and extending parallel thereto are slots a, which receive spring-metal strips a. which extend outwardly from the arm on both sides thereof. The outer ends of said strips bear on the strips b and tend to press them together. The strips a and Z) are secured in the slots by top plates c and side plates (Z, fastened to the arm lt.
In use the garment or other article 1,' is inserted between the strips Z). as clearly shown in Figs. 2, 3. and 5, between which strips it is securely held by the spring-pressure of the strips a.
The arm lt, which supports the holders, may be of any required size and provided with any desired number of holders.
nstead of a bracket some other suitable form of support may be employed.
The garment or other article can be readily inserted into or removed from the holder Without danger of injury.
-Iavingl thus described my invention, what is claimed as new, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, isa
1. An article-holder comprising` a supporting-arm slotted transversely, spring-strips extending side by side through said slot and outwardly from the arm, and spring-strips extending from the arm and bearing on the first-mentioned strips to press them together.
2. An article-holder comprisinga supporting-arm slotted transversely, spring-strips extending side by side through said slot and outwardly from the arm on both sides thereof, and spring-strips cxtending from the arm and bearing behind the aforesaid strips to press them together.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
