PANTALOONS-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 223,681, dated January 20, 1880.
Application filed November 20, 1879.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, J AGOB F. REINHARDT and THEOPHILUS REINHARDT, of the city, county, and Stateof New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Pantaloons- Holders, of which the following is a full, true, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
Our invention has relation to an apparatusfor exposing and exhibiting pantaloons, and for holding them in an extended condition;
. and it consists, generally, ofa wire of sufficient length to extend the width of the upper part of the pantaloons. This wire may be bent in a loop at the center, thereby afi'ording a ready means of attachment. Supported by the two ends of this wire, and sliding upon them, are
two spring-clamps, which are so arranged as we obtain a cheap and simple apparatus which will expose pantaloons to their best advantage, and support them in an extended condition, so to be free of wrinkles or any other similar defacement. This latter purpose we consider the apparatus especially well adapted for accomplishing.
Our drawing represents our invention.
A represents the wire, which may be bent, as shown, in the center. 0 O represent the spring-clamps adapted to seize and hold the cloth, as specified. .These are adjustable by means of their rings at difierent points along the suspending-wire.
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A pantaloons-supporter which consists of an extended wire or equivalent support, provided with two or more spring-clamps adapted to seize and hold firmly the band of the pantaloons, thereby supporting the same in an extended condition, substantially as described.
2. A pantaloons-supporter which consists of an extended wire or equivalent support, and two or more spring-clamps adapted to seize and sustain the bandot the pantaloons and to slide upon the supporting-wire, whereby they may be adapted to pantaloons of difi'erent widths, or may be adjusted so as to support the band of the pantaloons at difi'erent points, substantially as described.
