UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE H. ROSE, OF CANTON, OHIO. v
COLLAR-BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 361,324, dated April 19, 1887.
Application filed February 12, 1887. Serial No. 2213.17. (N0 model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, GEORGE H. ROSE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ganton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Collar-Buttons; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, in which- Figure 1 is a view of a collar, showing the button placed in proper position. Fig. 2 is a detached view of the collar-button.
The present invention has relation to collarbuttons; and its nature consists in its peculiar manner of construction, hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the shank or stem of the button, which is formed flat, for the purpose of preventing the button proper from turning in the buttonholes. To one end oftthe shank or stem A is attached, in the ordinary manner, the head a, and to the opposite end is attached the segmental head I), which head may be formed integral with the shank A. The heads a and Z) are so adjusted that they will be parallel to each other. The segmental head b is adjusted so as to befiush with the shank A upon the bottom or lower edge, and is so formed for the purpose of offering very little resistance in placing the collar B upon the head I).
It will be seen that by providing the segmental hcad b and having said head stand or placed parallel with the head a, collars can be easily attached and detached, and at the same time will provide an easy means of attaching a necktie.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As an improved article of manufacture, the
collarbutton herein shown and described, con sisting of a Hat shank, A, and segmental head 1), its inner or connected portion flush with said shank, and the circular head a, the two heads being parallel with each other, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
- GEORGE H. ROSE. Witnesses:
' THos. P. CORDREY,
FRED W. BOND.
