  • the muffler has a function to reduce exhaust noise. That is, a communication path for causing a plurality of expansion chambers and expansion chambers to communicate with one another is formed in a casing of the muffler.
  • the exhaust gas discharged from the engine and flowing into the muffler via the exhaust pipe is expanded and attenuated in stages in the process of passing through the expansion chambers and the communication path. As a result, the exhaust noise is reduced (see, for example, JP H1-290913 A below).

Therefore, the volume of the first-stage expansion chamber Rc is a value of a total of the respective volumes of the first expansion chamber R 1 , the third expansion chamber R 3 , and the first communication pipe 31 .
