CHARLES MOYER, OF TRENTON, NEW JERSEY.
' IMPROVEMENT IN PITCHERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 191,771, dated June 12. 1877 application filed September 22, 1876.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, CHARLES MOYER, of Trenton, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Connecting Covers to Pitchers, Jugs, or similar yessels, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had to the accompamaterial, but preferably of metal, and having two books, b b, attached to its under side,
about half an inch from its rear edge. 0 is a spring, of rubber or metal, which is passed through the perforations a a in such a manner that its two ends may be fastened to the hooks b b, and that its middle part shall bear against the outer surface of the vessel between the perforations.
The rear edge of the cover, the spring, and the hooks b b, bearing upon the rear top edge of the vessel, together form a hinge at once cheap, simple, and efl'ective.
