Each of the sections 7, 8 is folded upon itself at its inner side and bottom and stitched together to provide inner and betteln heme 24, 25 respectively. Each of the sections 7, 8 includes a squared inner edge 26, a squared' bottom edge 27 and an outer side edge formed of an inclined part- 28 and an incurved part 29. The part 28 inclines outwardly from the outer end of bottoni edge 27 to its point of mergence in the lower end. of part 29. Each of said sections further includes a top edge formed of an inclined part 30 and an incurved part 31. The part 30 inclines dowir wardly from the upper end of part 31 to the upper end of part 29. The part 31 extends from the inner end of part 30 and terminates in the upper end of the inner edge 26. The part 29 forms a portion of an arm opening of the garment and the part 31 forms a portion of the neck opening of the garment. n i

The section 7 coacts with the upper portion of section 5 and the section 8 coact-s with the upper portion of section 6 to provide the waist of the garment.

The top edges of sections 5, 6 are secured to the top edge parts 30 of sections 7, 8 to provide shoulder straps 32. The edge parts 22 of sections 5, 6 coact with the incurred edge parts 29 of the sections 7, 8 to provide the arm openings when sections 5, 6 are secured to 4sections 7, 8. Bindings or pipings 33, 34 enclose the edges of the arm openings.

The upper or top edge parts of sections 5, 6 and the edge parts 31 of sections 7, 8 coact to provide the neck opening of the garment and a binding or piping 35 is not only employed to enclose the said upper or top edge parts of sections 5, 6 and the edge parts 31, but` also, for enclosing the inner side edges 26 of sections 7, 8, and such piping extends to the lower ends of sections 7, 8.

The extension members 3, 4 are in the form of two-ply rectangular strips and are secured to the upper portions of the edge parts 23 of sections 5, 6, extend inwardlyl therefrom and constitute flaps. The upper parts of members 3, 4 are also secured to the lower portion of the edge parts 28 of sections 7, 8; The members 3, 4 are free of connection with that part of the side edges 42, 43 of section 9 which are not secured tothe edge parts 23 of sections 5, 6. That portion of section 9 which is not connected to the? edge parts 23 provides a flap 47.

Each o-f the sections 7, 8 at its lower outer corner is provided with a button 47 coacting with an outer buttonhole 40 for connecting, in connection with the button 38, the top of the tiap 47 to the bottom of the sections 7, 8.

The lower end of each leg of the garment has arranged therein an elastic member 48 to provide for binding such end against a leg of the wearer when the garment is worn.

The garment is ofsuch form that it can be readily worn as an outer garment for childs use when desired or as an undergarment in combination with an outer garment, such as a childs dress, thereby providing a two-piece suit and overcoming the necessity of the child wearing a separate underwaist and a separate pair of drawers, as is the case at present, Therefore, it is thought the many advantages of a childs garment, in accordance with this invention can be readily understood, and although the preferred embodiment of the invention is as illustrated and described, yet it is to be understood that changes in the details of construction can be had which fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

A childs garment of the romper type having a front and a back, said front formed of a pair of oppositely disposed sections of like contour having the intermediate portion of their inner side edges secured together, each of said sections having its inner side edge formed of an intermediate squared portion, an inwardly curved upper portion and a lower portion having an inwardly curved upper part and a squared lower part, its outer side edge formed of an upper and a lower curved portion with the latter of greater length than the former, its bottom edge squared and its upper edge of less length than the bottom edge and inclining downwardly from its inner to its outer end, said back formed of a pair of upper sections and a lower section, each of said upper sections having a portion of its top edge secured to the top edge of a front section and the lower portion of its outer side edge secured to the outer side edge of a front section, said lower section having its side edges form continuations of the outer side edges of said upper sections and the lower part of its side edges secured to the lower part of the lower portions of the outer side edges of said front sections, said lower section centrally of its bottom formed with an inverted fU-shaped cutout, means for securing the edge throughout of said cutout to the lower portions of the inner side edges of said front sections to provide a crotch, means for detachably connecting the sections of the back together, and extension members in the form of rectangular strips having one end thereof positioned above said lower section, said strips having their outer lengthwise edges secured throughout to the curved lower portions of the outer side edges of said front sections, the lower'part of the outer side edges of said upper sections and to the lower secured part lof said lower section.
