- In asheet insetting machine ofthis kind,
when a sheet from one printing mechanis1n is inset between ,two' sheets from another printing mechanism, it is usualto drive the mechanism printing the'sheet to beinserted at a speed slowerthan (say half of) that of the mechanism for printing the other two sheets. The sheet to be insetis fed by fric- 7 tion rollers or theilike, acting-in conjunction with a cuttingcylinder, towards a collecting cylinderwhich takes; charge of the sheets. At thefmoment that the sheets vare taken in charge by the collecting cylinder, the sheet which is to be insetisfreed from its cutting 7, cylinder and rollers, bymoving'theselatter awayfrom the said cutting cylinder.

In a sheet insetting machine, the combination of a collecting cylinder, cutting cylinders comprising a gutter cylinder and a knife cylinder, a friction roller adapted to co-operate with said gutter cylinder for feeding the sheet to be inset to said collecting cylinder, and additional means running at the speed of the collecting cylinder for feeding the sheet to be inset locatedbetween the gutter cylinder and friction roller co-operating therewith and the collecting cylinder,

In a sheet insetting machine, the combination of a collecting cylinder, cutting cylinders comprising a gutter cylinder and a knife cylinder, a friction roller adapted to co-operate with said gutter cylinder for feeding the sheet to beinset to said collecting cylinder, and additional means runing at the speed of the collecting cylinder for feeding the sheet to be inset located between the guttercylinder and friction roller co-operating therewith and the collecting cylinder,

In a sheet insetting machine, the combination of cutting cylinders, a collecting cylinder, means cooperating with the cutting cylinders for feeding the sheetto be inset from the cutting cylinders to the collecting cylinder, and additional means running at the speed of the collecting cylinder for feeding the sheet to be inset thereto, comprising a pair of friction rolls located between the first means and-the collecting cylinder, the rolls having sheet holding surfaces of the same.
