Abstract

475,029. Folding edges of sheet material. VENABLES, C. E. March 24, 1937, No. 9183/36. [Class 42 (i)] In apparatus for folding the edges of continuous strip material of the kind having guides or folders 22 which lift the edge portions of the strip and turn them over on the central portion, these guides are carried by base parts comprising sets of bars or battens 17 which can be slid between each other by a screw 19 for adjustment purposes. A slotted plate 14 and screw 15 may be provided for additional adjustment of one end of each guide. The work may be kept flat by means of a top plate consisting of metal plates 23 with bent-up edges and adjustably connected together by slotted rods 24 and screws 25. The work passes under a creasing roller 7 to a draw-off roll.
