IMPRCVEMENT IN SMOKING-CASES Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 165,215, dated J u y 6, 1875; application filed May 22, 187 5.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY W. DANN, of West Troy, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Smoking-Case, of which the following is a specification:

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my improved smoking-case; and Fig.2, avertical transverse section of the same on the line 0 c, Fig. 1.

My invention relates to an improved smokin g-case that provides readily accessible comthe outer ones for the pipe, matches, and other articles. Each compartment is provided with a separately-hinged lid, 0, that closes by a suitable spring-snap. For the purpose of storing a pipe with astem of suitable length, a tubular extension, D, of one end compartment runs along the wall of thecase, and projects into the central compartment, as shown in the drawing. The pipe-stem is introduced therein, so that the bowl is seated. into the end compartment, and the pipe thus securely and neatly stored. All the necessary requisites for smoking are in this manner compactly arranged together, and at any moment within handy and convenient use.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent' A new article of manufacture, consisting of case B, divided into three compartments, having a separate 'cover at each end, as well as in the middle, and provided with pipe-tube l), as shown and described.
